Welcome
Coming to therapy is the first step in a hopeful direction and I’m thankful you found your way to me.
People choose therapy for many different reasons. The desire to change something is always at the heart of it. Change can be a scary word and it can push us out of our comfort zone. Although it is true that therapy is not always an easy endeavor, its purpose is to provide relief and healing. As a colleague of mine says, “If pain is one side of a coin and hope is the other, then the flip of a coin is choosing therapy.”
Please spend some time looking around my website to see if we are a good fit for this journey. Just reach out if you are ready to make an appointment, have questions, or would like to speak on the phone. I’m here.
One of my therapeutic specialties involves empowering teenagers to tap into their incredible potential. I guide them through the complexities of academic pressures, social anxieties, and family communication challenges, helping them navigate these hurdles with greater ease and confidence. A crucial part of my work includes engaging the family system, fostering stronger communication and understanding, and instilling resilience and confidence that teens can carry beyond our sessions
Early adulthood can be a time brimming with exciting possibilities and future goals. It can also be a period marked by fear, anxiety, and overwhelming emotions that make taking steps forward feel daunting. Many people in their 20s and 30s today face a unique combination of challenges. Whatever revelations you are experiencing, therapy offers a safe space to process these feelings and acquire practical tools for managing complex emotions and setting achievable goals. Working collaboratively, we’ll navigate these complexities together, helping you make sense of your world and your place within it.
People come to LGBTQ+ affirming counseling for all sorts of things, really. Maybe you’re figuring out how to come out to your family and friends, or you’re wanting to explore your gender identity a bit more. Or maybe, you just want someone who sees you for who you are—proud and queer. The LGBTQ+ community is vibrant and diverse, offering unique forms of connection and expression. I work to address the particular challenges and celebrate the strengths within this community, including navigating the complexities of polyamorous relationships with understanding and without judgment.
Through over 30 years of experience supporting teens and their families, I’ve learned that working with the entire family system is key, especially during those transitional years of adolescence and young adulthood. I equip parents with practical, immediately applicable tools, and I deeply understand the intricate dynamics that come into play within families, particularly when navigating the challenges and triumphs of these crucial developmental stages. Effective communication within families requires special skills and focused attention, which family therapy can provide. Let’s work together to build stronger connections and foster a supportive environment for everyone.
For those navigating chronic pain and illness, it’s often painfully clear that the world isn’t designed with their needs in mind. I’ve dedicated years to supporting individuals facing these challenges, and I’ve found that clinical hypnosis can be a particularly effective aspect of treatment. It offers a powerful way to manage discomfort and reclaim a sense of control, empowering you to live more fully despite the limitations you face.
Clinical hypnosis, in my practice, serves as a powerful tool to enhance your journey towards your goals. By guiding you into a focused state of awareness, we can collaboratively explore and clarify the decisions and skills necessary for your success. This approach offers a rapid, deep, and meaningful way to address a range of challenges, from pain management and anxiety reduction to deepening relationships and overcoming phobias, empowering you to engage in effective, personalized processes for lasting change.
