Support and Skills Groups

I offer two different support and skills groups: one for Chronic Pain and Illness, and one for Stress and Anxiety Reduction for Teens. Depending on the time of year, there might be room for you. These groups have met both online and in person in my office in Berkeley.

Chronic Pain and Illness

For those who experience chronic pain and illness, it is often clear that the world is not set up for, or designed to accommodate, folks with chronic conditions and disabilities. Molly has worked with clients with chronic illness and pain individually for a number of years. She has seen firsthand the incredible resilience of this population, while also witnessing the isolation, challenges, and even hopelessness of their lives. Molly and her clients have seen excellent results in treating chronic pain and illness using a variety of therapeutic practices, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Molly believes that pain is inevitable, yet suffering doesn’t have to be.

What is ACT?

ACT, or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, is an empirically-based psychological practice that uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies along with commitment and behavior-change strategies to increase psychological flexibility. It is particularly well-suited for working with chronic pain, as it aims to help you move forward through difficult emotions so you can put your energy into healing.

“Molly is truly gifted and has been such an integral part of my teen’s journey of managing their anxiety. She has been able to provide the right balance of relational, scientific and behavioral information delivered with compassion and humor to activate my teen’s sense of agency for change.

Molly is a great therapist but also a coach and key navigator to the field guide of life for my teen as they navigate life’s transitions.”

Stress and Anxiety Reduction for Teens

If you’re a teenager, then you know how stressful life can be. It’s easy to get stuck. This small group (5-6 teens) is designed to help you learn strategies to cope with stress and more. In a safe and compassionate place, you’ll learn how to manage your life and get unstuck.

The group meets weekly for 8-10 weeks. Sessions are 75 minutes long.

Dates TBD, based on enrollment.

I look forward to meeting you
and discussing what you want out of therapy.
Together, we can work to clarify and
reach achievable goals.
